Alright faithful SpokePost.com readers...we're finally coming out of hibernation. We've got the gears rolling over at SpokePost.com once again. An up-to-date bike racing calendar, a new/old team, some updated features, and a new diary writer (Christopher Worden).

Oh yeah baby. The SpokePost.com racing calendar is live and looking lively for 2006. Great racing throughout the Northeast United States and Eastern Canada is abundant, and this year we're heading west to Ohio and coordinating with our friends in Canada more than ever. Pennsylvania, you're in there solid. New York - in there but not sure how completely. New England - I know there is more racing than that in New England - let's go promoters, get me the information so I can get it up on the calendar. We plan to continue expanding our calendar throughout the United States...so we will be adding searching and filtering features to it in the future.

SpokePost.com Submission Guidelines
Promoters, here's an invitation. SpokePost.com wants to support grassroots cycling efforts throughout the country.

We want you to get the maximum exposure for your races that you can get. Send us detailed press releases, human interest stories relating to your race, or just tell us how one of your sponsors makes something "really cool". If you do, we'll try to get the exposure that you need. SpokePost.com readers are an information hungry bunch of folks, they like to know what's going on, so let them know! Send your stories to us at spokepost@gmail.com. Yeah, I know, you would expect us to have some fancy @spokepost.com email to send to. Well, we do, but Google is much better at filtering spam than we are...so for now... We prefer un-formatted text files or lightly-formatted Microsoft Word documents. For tabular data such as results we prefer things in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet format.

The Colavita-SpokePost.com CNY Region Team has been formed and is a conglomerate of the old SpokePost.com team and the newly formed Colavita CNY Region Team comprised of riders primarily from the Syracuse Region. Therefore, we have the Colavita-SpokePost.com CNY Region Cycling Team. SpokePost.com is very pleased to be associated with a company that has put much effort into the cycling community - Colavita. Their efforts should be applauded. The team is sponsored by local area companies such as Wayne's and Meltzers Syracuse Bicycle, Tangidyne, J Wellington Associates, PacketTV, and Next Edge Sports. Updated Features
We're working hard in the SpokePost.com laboratories to bring new and improved features throughout the site. When you view race specifics on the calendar, you'll see a list of races below the listed race that are around the same time period. We've also added extended coverage of Ontario Canada, Ohio and New Jersey races in addition to the already complete regions of New York, Pennsylvania, and New England. Please, if you see a race that is missing from the calendar, let us know!

The calendar is getting a revamping and will include mechanisms for promoters to submit their races directly to the calendar with an approval system. We're also thinking of possibly bringing back the bicycle classified if we think we can keep it hacker free this time. It would be nice to have a regional swap area. We'll see. We're also considering product review and comparison section.

New Diary Writer
We've added 18 year old Chris Worden. I've read his first two entries already and he seems like he'll be a nice addition to the SpokePost.com diary family. You can find the link to his diary in the list of diary writers in the right column of the website. Welcome aboard Chris!
